Children
Jesus said, “Let the little children come unto me, and do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.” – Matthew 19:14
Our Children’s ministry:
- encourages relationships. We help children discover their relationship with God. We want every child to be known and loved, and to build lasting friendships.
- believes all God’s children are graced through the Holy Spirit. Through worship, prayer, study, and intentional service, we foster children’s spiritual growth.
- places a high priority on safety and security. We provide children with a safe, fun, and welcoming place to explore their relationship with God and God’s relationship with the world.

Youth
Today’s adolescents live in a world where the search for identity has become increasingly complex. It is our hope as a ministry to remind one another that God has already given us an identity — the image of God — which we are called to live into as individuals and a community each day. It is our prayer that as we seek to love, serve, and reflect God’s story in our communities and the world we would be reminded that we, and all those around us, are made in God’s image.
Sunday School
All 6th – 12th graders meet in the youth rooms on the lower level from 9:00-9:40 am Sunday mornings for fun, good discussion, singing and praise. Sometimes we meet together and other times in small groups, but always toward fulfilling the Biblical mandate: “to love as we have been loved.”Youth Group
Join a dynamic group of young people who enjoy fellowship, pizza, service, and fun mostly after Sunday worship. See the church calendar for the latest events.Confirmation
Yearly, any youth in middle and high school has the opportunity to learn more about the Reformed tradition, delve deeper into their own faith and choose at the end of the time to join FPC as a member. This time of committed education and exploration is Confirmation and it is typically in the spring for 7-8 weeks with new members and Confirmation students recognized on Easter Sunday. At FPC, we strive to walk alongside high school and middle school students as they continue to discover who they are and who Jesus is calling them to be. It is our hope and prayer that as student encounter Jesus in new ways that they would find themselves uniquely gifted and significant members of the body of Christ, called to witness to the work of Jesus as they live into God’s dream for the world. We would love for you to come and be a part of this wonderful youth ministry.

Mission
First Presbyterian Church of Downtown South Bend believes mission is more than money, it is an investment of our time, talents and energies of our hearts, minds and hands in the mission of God in our community and the world. We seek to teach compassion, extending the loving care of Jesus Christ to those in physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Our Mission Committee works in many way to mobilize the congregation for ministry through active service in the local, national and international communities.
